Mallory Makes a Difference
In this story, Mallory and her dog Lucy learn about some
causes of Climate Change and how it can impact kids in
body, soul, and spirit. This story acknowledges the
complexity and seriousness of the problem and teaches how
greater understanding and simple acts of kindness toward
each other and the earth can make a difference.
Mallory’s mom, Becca, wrote this book as a part of a class at
Wake Forest University, entitled Imagining the Planet. She
learned a lot about the impact of climate change on our
planet from the documentaries, essays, and fiction studied in
the class. Much of the news about the future of the planet is
bad, and some writers and scientists say we are doomed –
but there is always a way to make a positive impact when
we do our best to care for the planet and each other.

Mallory drew the pictures from her ideas and imagination.
She has a lively spirit and took on the project with great
enthusiasm. Mallory loves to draw and is excited to be
published as an illustrator for the first time!
